  Friday, November 9, 2007
Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington, D.C.

This grand ball conjures images of a more elegant era with its Scottish pageantry and black tie or Highland wear. Entertaiment includes the Highland Dancers and Pipes & Drums of the St. Andrew's Society of Washington, D.C., and the big band to carry guests onto the dance floor. Hosted by the Saint Andrew's Society of Washington, D.C., the event is open to all friends of the Society and all lovers of Scottish pageantry and culture, regardless of their heritage.

Proceeds from the Tartan Ball and the silent auction benefit the Society's own Scots Charity & Education Fund, which has enabled students from the United States and Scotland to further their academic pursuits. We are proud to continue promoting ties between our two nations, and the university classroom is part of that strong foundation. The Society is a social organization whose members are of Scottish birth or ancestry and is not affiliated with any religious institution. It was incorporated in the District of Columbia in 1908, tracing its origins back to 1760 in Alexandria, Virginia.
