Gay Fairfax was a public access cable television program produced and originally cablecast in Fairfax County, Virginia. It was one of the first all-volunteer gay and lesbian newsmagazine television programs in the country to focus on a non-urban area, specifically a politically conservative suburb of Washington, D.C.

The program was notable in that it brought together a wide variety of volunteers, covered a host of issues and cultural activities, attracted a great deal of media attention, earned many awards, spawned many more television programs and projects -- and changed many lives.
